Lion's Den | Build sexual confidence with positive affirmations. Affirmations work by helping you shift from negative thoughts or your perceived weaknesses to focus on positive thoughts and your strengths. Through repetition and positive actions, you can rewire your brain to achieve your desires and boost empowerment and self-confidence.

How to Build Sexual Confidence with Positive Thinking

Sexual affirmations to help your mind connect with your desires

While affirmations may not make you a Sex God or Goddess, they can help you build sexual confidence inside and outside the bedroom.

Affirmations work by helping you shift from negative thoughts or your perceived weaknesses to focus on positive thoughts and your strengths. They do this by building new neural pathways in the brain, thanks to the brain’s neuroplasticity, which, over time, can make you believe these affirmations are indeed fact. They also help activate the brain’s reward system to help boost empowerment and self-confidence.

The brain doesn’t know the difference between reality and fantasy. So, if you visualize doing something—like being an amazing and confident lover—your brain believes them to be true over time. That is, to a certain degree.

Affirmations, however, also need to be believable. So, work with ones that you believe are positive changes you can achieve. Take positive actions to make them true. You need to act as if you are stating it is true.

How to Create Your Own Affirmations

I added sample affirmations in the next section. Creating your own affirmations will work better than using someone else’s. That’s because you need to believe them for your mind to accept them. So, if the affirmations below don’t resonate with you, use them as a starting point in creating your own.

Here is how to create powerful affirmations step-by-step:

Turn a negative thought into a positive statement. First, think about something you want to change. For example, perhaps you feel nervous about a new date. Write down your negative statement: “I feel nervous when I go on a new date.” Then think of how you want to feel: “I am confident and relaxed on a new date, so I can be myself and make a great first impression.”

Make sure the affirmation is realistic and achievable, based on something you think you can change or attain. Maybe don’t try: “I am a sex Goddess, and my date will fall head over heels in love with me.” Unless you believe the statement to be accurate, use something more believable.

Fake it until you make it, meaning even if you don’t fully believe it to be true, then affirming it can eventually make you believe it is true. Affirmations can be aspirational, so make yours something you want to be true.

Write and speak your affirmation in the present tense, as if it is already happening and real. This helps you to believe the statement is already true.

Say it with feeling and put positive emotion into it. Feel what it would really be like to have accomplished the affirmation statement. I like to make mine as a gratitude statement, such as “I am so happy and grateful that I am this… or have this….”

Make it a habit, and say your affirmations a few times a day. A good way to do this is five minutes in the morning when you wake up and five minutes in the evening before bed. Repetition is what actually rewires the brain, so say the affirmation over and over again.

Repeat your statement up to 10 times out loud.

Take positive actions to work on making these beliefs a reality.

Be patient. It takes time to change one’s negative beliefs and rewire your brain, especially if they are really engrained in our psyche.

Positive affirmations can be a powerful tool to help you gain self-confidence, which helps to amplify your attractiveness. When you feel good about yourself, you give off a more magnetic energy that is attractive to others.

Lastly, remember affirmations are not a magic spell. If you have very low self-esteem, are depressed, have severe anxiety, or have mental health issues, affirmations may not work for you. If that is the case, it is important to speak to your doctor or medical health professional and get help.
